Lillard has committed to USA Basketball this summer with hopes of landing a spot on the team that will participate in the FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain, The Oregonian reports.

Analysis:

Lillard didn't disappoint in his sophomore season, increasing his efficiency in fewer minutes played. Despite playing nearly three minutes less per game, he bumped up his three-pointers made from 2.3 to 2.7, while simultaneously shooting a higher percentage from deep (36.8 to 39.4 percent). In addition, he was a better decision maker, putting up a 2.33 AST/TO versus last season's 2.17. Overall, the point guard averaged 20.7 points (on 42.4 percent shooting), 5.6 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 2.7 treys, and 0.8 steals in 35.8 minutes. Other than striving for a Top 4 seed in the Western Conference next season, he intends to improve his conditioning further, with the National team as the impetus, in order to avoid the times that he was winded during the Blazers' run to the conference semifinals.
