Marcin Gortat on Roy Hibbert: 'If he drops 0 and 2, I'm cool with that'

With the Washington Wizards and Indiana Pacers set to square off in the Eastern Conference semifinals, perhaps no one-on-one matchup illustrates the current perception of both franchises better than the one between Marcin Gortat and Roy Hibbert.

Gortat enjoyed a solid first round against the Chicago Bulls, helping define the Wizards as an awesome underdog story going into the series. Hibbert, meanwhile, was something of a disaster against the Atlanta Hawks (who needed seven games to be eliminated), adding more fuel to the belief that the Pacers are destined to crumble before the NBA Finals.

Just take a look a comparison of the two players' first-round numbers:

PLAYER PPG RPG BPG TS% PER
Marcin Gortat (WAS) 10.8 9.6 2 50.70% 13.19
Roy Hibbert (IND) 5.3 3.7 1.3 39.80% 4.23

Gortat seems aware of the numbers and clearly isn't lacking any confidence before Monday's Game 1 takes place.

Shots fired.
