Mario Chalmers will play for Heat in Game 2 despite shin contusion

The Miami Heat will have fiery point guard Mario Chalmers in the lineup on Wednesday night when they engage in Game 2 against the Charlotte Bobcats.

Chalmers is dealing with a right shin contusion but went through pre-game warm-ups and declared himself fit to play. Of course he did, because can you imagine how much he'd be yelled at if he sat, considering how much he's yelled at when he plays?

The 27-year-old Alaskan played 25 minutes in the series opener, scoring seven points with three rebounds and two assists. He averaged 9.8 points and 4.9 assists during the regular season, both pushing career highs, and takes on additional importance in this opening round series due to the scoring chops of Bobcats lead guard Kemba Walker.

Not that the Heat need any more of it, but Chalmers also boasts an impressive playoff pedigree - he has a pair of championship rings and has averaged 9.4 points with a 35.9 percent mark from long range in 80 career playoff games.
