Lakers' Pau Gasol will officially miss the final 3 games of the season

As per an official release from the Los Angeles Lakers, power forward Pau Gasol will miss the final three games of the season due to vertigo.

Gasol's future in the gold and purple is in doubt as he is an unrestricted free-agent this coming off-season. A number of teams are rumored to be interested in the Spaniard's services, and the two-time NBA champion may choose to flee Los Angeles in search of greener pastures.

In addition to holding his Bird rights, the Lakers will have a wealth of cap room to re-sign Pau. However, Gasol and current Lakers head coach Mike D'Antoni have previously aired their grievances via the media, and Gasol's playing style is an awkward fit with D'Antoni's rigid offensive schemes.

If this season turns out to be his last as a Laker, Gasol will finish with per game averages of 17.6 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 blocks in 522 total games played. He made three All-Star teams as a member of the Lakers, and won championships in 2008-09, and 2009-10.
