Report: Clippers considering shutting Redick down for season

Kelley L Cox / USA TODAY Sports

The laundry list of Los Angeles infirm may soon see another member hit the shelf for the rest of the season. The Clippers are nearing a decision on whether or not to shut down J.J. Redick, who's been out since Feb. 3 with a bulging disc in his back, according to the Orange County Register,

The Clips will apparently decide "in the upcoming weeks" if Redick will be healthy enough to play during the stretch run, or if he'll follow Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, who were both officially declared inactive earlier this week by the Lakers.

Redick has suffered through a bevy of injuries this year, including a broken hand and a torn wrist ligament. In the 30 games he has played, he's averaged career highs in scoring, field goal percentage, and PER. The Clippers are 21-9 in those games.
