Report: Clippers looking at Stephen Jackson, Shannon Brown

With the Los Angeles Clippers struggling for wing depth, the team may look to add a veteran in the coming weeks. J.J. Redick, Matt Barnes and Reggie Bullock are all injured, leaving the depth chart in shambles.

While a Lamar Odom addition has long been speculated about, Odom might not be ready until January, having taken a long break from basketball.

According to an ESPN report, the Clippers are looking at Stephen Jackson and Shannon Brown as potential additions, though it's unclear if that would alter their Odom plans.

Jackson was released by the San Antonio Spurs before the playoffs last season, but it's possible coach Doc Rivers thinks he can mix the tough veteran into the Clippers culture. Jackson has size, positional versatility and was at one point a strong 3-point shooter, all areas the Clippers could use help in.

Brown, meanwhile, was released by Washington after being acquired in the Marcin Gortat trade. Brown offers scoring - he averaged 10.7 points in 23.7 minutes the past two seasons with Phoenix - and can be an adequate defender but reportedly doesn't check off as many boxes as Jackson for L.A.

Following Saturday's loss, Rivers made it clear he thought the team needed an extra body:

“If you guys have any names, call me and let me know. I’ll be on the phone tonight with [Clippers executives] Gary [Sacks] and Gerald [Madkins] and Dave Wohl and I’m praying they know somebody. We’ll see. You never know.”
