Nets' Trevor Booker: Will sit out for rest Wednesday

Booker will sit out Wednesday's game against the Bulls for rest purposes, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.

Analysis:

The Nets will hold out six players for rest or injury in the season finale, allowing the coaching staff to evaluate some of the younger talent on the team. With Booker out specifically, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson could clear 30 minutes as the starting power forward, while Andrew Nicholson or Justin Hamilton will likely serve as his top backup. Booker finishes his 2016-17 campaign with averages of 10.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals across 24.7 minutes in his 71 games (43 starts). Booker, who signed a two-year, $18.5 million contract with the Nets last summer, should be back in the fold with the team for 2017-18.
