Nuggets' Will Barton: Downgraded to doubtful Friday

Barton (foot) has been downgraded to doubtful for Friday's game against the Hornets, Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports reports.

Analysis:

Barton originally indicated prior to the Nuggets' morning shootaround that he would be available for Friday's contest, but it appears as though his sore left foot is more of an issue that the swingman envisioned. The Nuggets are leaning toward giving him the night off to rest up and recover, which might be enough for Barton to return to action Sunday against the Heat. Assuming Barton ends up sitting, look for Jamal Murray to take on most of his 20-to-25 minutes off the bench. Juancho Hernangomez could also reenter the rotation and see some light run.
