Mavericks' Nerlens Noel: Will play Wednesday vs. Wizards

Noel (knee) will play Wednesday against the Wizards, Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Analysis:

Coach Rick Carlisle gave Noel the green light to play after a successful showing during morning shootaround, and the big man could even be asked to start if Wesley Matthews (calf) is held out. Even if Noel is bypassed for the start, he should serve as the Mavs' top frontcourt option off the bench. The 22-year-old has averaged 10.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 24.2 minutes per game over his six outings since joining the Mavericks.
