Bulls' Rajon Rondo: Plays well in return to starting lineup

Rondo recorded 20 points (8-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, six assists, and one steal in 36 minutes during Monday's 115-109 win over the Hornets.

Analysis:

Despite not starting since Dec. 30, Rondo was given the nod at point guard as part of coach Fred Hoiberg's plan to provide the offense with a jolt. Coming off a five-game losing streak, it seems safe to assume Rondo will receive a second straight start against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. However, Rondo hasn't been a model for consistency in years, so it shouldn't be a huge surprise if he regresses against one of the league's top defenses. Rondo is averaging 30.2 minutes per game in starts, but only 21.1 minutes per off the bench, and his 25.8 minute average for the year is the least he he has seen since his rookie campaign.
