Cavaliers waive Bogut after making Sanders signing official

The Cleveland Cavaliers have officially waived Andrew Bogut after signing center Larry Sanders to a contract on Monday, the team announced.

Bogut played just a single minute for the Cavaliers, fracturing his leg during his debut with the team. The 7-foot Australian was brought in to help strengthen the team's frontcourt, but was seen as expendable after Cleveland ruled him out for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs.

Sanders hasn't appeared in an NBA game since 2015, when he averaged 7.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, and one steal for the Milwaukee Bucks. While he could turn into a valuable contributor for the Cavaliers, reports have indicated that the 28-year-old will spend most of his time in the D-League.
