Pelicans' DeMarcus Cousins: Double-doubles before fouling out Sunday

Cousins accrued 26 points (9-21 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists and one block over 31 minutes in Sunday's 105-97 win over the Lakers.

Analysis:

Cousins was unsurprisingly able to exploit an excellent frontcourt matchup to the tune of his fifth double-double in as many games since being traded from the Kings. He also drained multiple threes for the second time during that stretch but fouled out with 1:55 to play, marking the second instance in which that's occurred since he donned a Pelicans uniform. Cousins' usage rate since arriving in New Orleans stands at 27.4 percent, a sharp decline from the 38.1 percent figure he'd logged in Sacramento this season. However, the 26-year-old big man's averages of 23.0 points, 15.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks since the trade reveal slight declines only in the areas of dimes and stuffs, keeping him as lethal a fantasy option as ever thus far in his new digs.
