Hawks' Dennis Schroder: Suspended for Friday's game

The Hawks have suspended Schroder for Friday's game against the Heat for his failure to report to the team following the All-Star break, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Analysis:

After returning to his native Germany during the break, Schroder ran into visa issues that ended up delaying his travel back to the United States, forcing him to miss Wednesday's practice. He apparently didn't arrive in Atlanta until late Thursday, and the tardiness apparently didn't sit well with management. Schroder shouldn't be subjected to any further punishment beyond sitting out Friday, but Malcolm Delaney will move into the starting lineup and should take on the brunt of the minutes at point guard, with Tim Hardaway likely manning the position whenever Delaney is off the floor. Coach Mike Budenholzer has already stated that Schroder will be available for the team's next game Saturday against the Magic.
