Kings' Anthony Tolliver: Modest showing in Thursday start

Tolliver totaled three points (1-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt), eight rebounds and three assists over 31 minutes in his start at power forward in Thursday's 116-100 win over the Nuggets.

Analysis:

The veteran forward got first crack at filling DeMarcus Cousins' spot at the four but couldn't generate much in the way of offense. Tolliver did turn in solid work on the glass, and has hauled in at least six rebounds in five of nine February contests. However, despite the fact that he's proven fully capable of the occasional strong showing on the scoreboard, Tolliver has four consecutive single-digit point totals and has shot just 16.6 percent (2-for-12) over his last two games. He figures to have to up his offensive contributions to remain in the starting five for the long term, with 20-year-old Skal Labissiere, who turned in 12 points in 14 minutes off the bench Thursday, lurking in the background.
