Nets' Chris McCullough: Headed to Washington

McCullough and Bojan Bogdanovic were traded to the Wizards on Wednesday in exchange for Andrew Nicholson, Marcus Thornton and a 2017 first-round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Analysis:

McCullough had most of his rookie season wiped out while he was recovering from a torn ACL suffered during his lone campaign at Syracuse, and though he's been healthy throughout all of 2016-17, he hadn't cracked Nets coach Kenny Atkinson's rotation. The 22-year-old averaged a meager 2.5 points and 1.2 rebounds in 5.1 minutes per game in 14 appearances at the NBA level, while spending considerable time in the D-League. He's viewed as somewhat of a project player, but the league-worst Nets' decision to give up on him doesn't speak well to his chances of making an impact down the road with the playoff-contending Wizards.
