76ers' Joel Embiid: Out Wednesday vs. Celtics

Embiid (knee) isn't traveling with the 76ers and has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Celtics, Jessica Camerato of CSN Philadelphia reports.

Analysis:

As anticipated, the 76ers will keep Embiid out for their final game before the All-Star break to give him more time to recover from the bone bruise in his left knee, extended his streak of absences to 11 games. In addition, the 76ers noted that while Embiid will travel to New Orleans for the All-Star Game festivities, he won't participate in the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge, nor the Taco Bell Skills Challenge. The team remains optimistic that Embiid's knee injury won't linger the rest of the season, and if he's able to resume practicing next week, he may even be cleared to suit up for the 76ers' first game out of the break Feb. 24 against the Wizards.
