Report: Cavs hoping Bogut, Calderon available after deadline

While the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking for ways to improve their roster, they may wait until after the trade deadline to make their move.

The defending champs are hoping that a solid veteran will enter the free-agent market after Feb. 23, with the Lakers' Jose Calderon and the Mavericks' Andrew Bogut among the names that "greatly interest" them, league sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein.

With the Cavaliers well over the cap, trading for either player could prove difficult, meaning they would likely need Calderon or Bogut bought out by their current team in order to add them.

Calderon is averaging 3.5 points and 2.1 assists for Los Angeles, while Bogut is averaging three points and 8.4 rebounds for Dallas.

Cleveland has been linked to several other veterans in recent weeks, including Jameer Nelson, Shelvin Mack, and Deron Williams. The Cavaliers also worked out a number of veteran free-agent playmakers earlier this week, with Jordan Farmar reportedly emerging as the front-runner to land a contract.
