Cavaliers' Richard Jefferson: Will not play Wednesday vs. Kings

Jefferson has been excused from Wednesday's game against the Kings to tend to a personal matter, Joe Gabriele of Cavs.com reports.

Analysis:

Jefferson is awaiting the birth of his son, so the Cavaliers will give him the game off in order to welcome the newborn to hte world. The 36-year-old has averaged 20.4 minutes per game over his last five appearances, but that allotment of time could largely fall to Channing Frye and Kyle Korver on Wednesday. It's not yet known if Jefferson will rejoin the Cavaliers in time for Friday's game against the Nets.
