Pelicans' Anthony Davis: X-rays on hip negative

X-rays on Davis' left hip came back negative after he was removed from Monday's game against the Knicks following a hard foul, Jim Eichenhofer of Pelicans.com reports.

Analysis:

The Pelicans don't play again until Thursday against the Nets, so Davis may not have to miss any time after X-rays revealed he wasn't dealing with anything more than a bruised left hip. Davis ended up finishing with 40 points (14-22 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 11-12 FT), 18 rebounds, three blocks and two steals in 29 minutes, and may have returned to the contest had the Pelicans not held a big lead at the time of his departure. In the event the Pelicans do decide to hold Davis out Thursday, Terrence Jones and Donatas Motiejunas would likely be the primary beneficiaries.
