Mavericks' Deron Williams: Scores 16 in loss to Pistons

Williams scored 16 points (3-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 9-9 FT) and had five assists, three rebounds and one steal across 36 minutes during the Mavericks' 95-85 loss to the Pistons on Wednesday.

Analysis:

Williams' scoring has picked up in December as he's averaged 14.5 points in eight games, but only once has he shot above 50 percent from the field in those games. He did most of his damage from the foul line against Detroit, and he has gone 26-of-26 on free throws so far this month. With J.J. Barea (calf) unlikely to return soon, Dallas will likely continue to give Williams heavy minutes.
