Pacers' Monta Ellis: To miss upcoming three-game road trip

Ellis (groin), who has already been ruled out Monday against the Hornets, will also miss the Pacers' three-game road trip that begins Wednesday against the Heat, Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Analysis:

With the Pacers electing to hold Ellis out of the road trip, his first chance to return to action won't come until Dec. 19 against the Wizards. It's a rare setback for Ellis, who has been one of the league's most durable players over the last several seasons, as he missed only three games from 2012-13 through 2015-16. While he's out, Glenn Robinson is expected to enter the starting lineup at shooting guard and assume the bulk of Ellis' minutes, though Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Miles should also benefit from spikes in playing time.
