Don't rule out the banana boat buddies playing together in the NBA.

Chris Paul, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Carmelo Anthony are a close-knit bunch, and although they all star for different teams, they could someday join forces.

"Anything is possible," Paul recently told Jesse Williams and Stefan Marolachakis on the "Open Run" podcast of a potential union.

Earlier this year, both James and Anthony opened up about their dream of the quartet playing together, expressing a willingness to take a pay cut to make it happen.

CP3 recalled the last time the four of them played together. Following the 2007-08 campaign, Wade was coming off shoulder and knee injuries, and needed some help getting back into the swing of things, so he reached out to his pals.

"D-Wade hit us up and he was like, 'Hey man, I need to see what it's like to play for real,'" Paul said.

They all met at a gym in Wade's hometown of Chicago and played pickup to help the former Miami Heat star regain his feel for live game action.

"That's what you do for your real friends, and your real brothers," the Los Angeles Clippers point guard added.

That scrimmage paid off, with Wade returning to elite form and going off in the Beijing 2008 Olympics as a member of Team USA's "Redeem Team." On a roster that included Paul, Anthony, James, and a host of other NBA stars, Wade led the way with 16 points to go along with four rebounds, 2.2 steals, and 1.9 assists per game.

Paul, who raved about Flash's performance, expressed his support for him, Melo, and LeBron, referring to them as his brothers, and uncles to his son, Chris Paul Jr.

But as tight as they are, and as exciting as the prospect of them forming their own superteam is, don't expect it to happen anytime soon. James indicated it's a move he wants to make for one or two seasons toward the end of their illustrious playing careers.
