Lakers' Nick Young: Targeting Monday return

Young (calf) indicated that he's targeting Monday's game against the Kings for a return, Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Analysis:

Young has been out for the past week with a strained right calf, but looks to be progressing. He traveled with the Lakers to Houston for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, and though he won't play in that contest, he was able to put some shots up after morning shootaround. Young plans to take part in a walkthrough Thursday and then a full practice Saturday, so if all goes well in those sessions, a Monday return would seem more feasible. In the meantime, with D'Angelo Russell (knee) also out until Monday and Jose Calderon (hamstring) looking at a longer timetable than that, the shorthanded Lakers backcourt will be forced to lean heavily on Brandon Ingram, Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams.
