Bulls' Bobby Portis: Falls out of rotation Tuesday

Portis (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in Tuesday's 102-91 loss to the Pistons.

Analysis:

Portis hasn't had the breakout some may have predicted in his second season, with the success of Taj Gibson in the starting role at power forward and Nikola Mirotic's ability to stretch the floor off the bench often making Portis a low-minute option in coach Fred Hoiberg's rotation. It may be even more difficult for Portis to find court time when Doug McDermott (concussion) returns, perhaps as soon as Thursday's game against the Spurs. The 21-year-old seems to be trending down at this time.
