Wizards' Sheldon McClellan: Assigned to D-League

McClellan was assigned Tuesday to the D-League's Delaware 87ers, Candace Buckner of The Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

In mid-November, McClellan logged back-to-back outings of 20 minutes or more when Bradley Beal was sidelined with a hamstring injury, but since then, he's played a total of one minute over the following nine games. He'll head to the D-League for additional in-game opportunities and is expected to remain there for at least a few games, so he likely won't be back with the Wizards in the near future.
