Lakers' Tarik Black: Does not participate in practice Tuesday

Black (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Analysis:

After spraining his right ankle in Monday's loss to the Jazz, Black was unable to practice Tuesday, and the Lakers quickly determined that he'd need to miss at least one game. Black has been serving as the primary backup to starting center Timofey Mozgov this season, averaging 5.9 points and 5.2 rebounds in 15.4 minutes per game. His absence could prompt coach Luke Walton to lean more heavily on Mozgov in Wednesday's contest, while the likes of Julius Randle and Thomas Robinson could also see more run at the center spot.
