Marcus Camby's missing nephew found dead
Marcus McGhee, the 9-year-old autistic nephew of former NBA center Marcus Camby, was found dead in a lake on his family's property Saturday morning, the Pearland Police Department announced.
This comes two days after the child was reported missing following his disappearance from Thanksgiving Day dinner on Thursday.
"Pearland Police Department regrets to inform the community that Marcus McGhee has been found. Today's search will be called off. We thank all of you for your efforts," the department posted on its Facebook account. "The family is now in need of our prayers. Additional details will be released later."
McGhee was found in an L-shaped lake behind Camby's home at approximately 7 a.m.
A vigil is planned at the Pearland Dad's Club at 6 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Houston Chronicle.
