Watch: Melo drills game-winner in OT vs. Hornets

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

That must've been Carmelo Anthony's mindset Friday after missing a contested jumper - while Kristaps Porzingis was wide open on the baseline - that would've given the New York Knicks a regulation victory over the Charlotte Hornets.

With the game tied yet again in the dying moments of overtime, Melo took another shot from 12 feet out ... and this time it went in.

Anthony finished the back-and-forth contest with a season-high 35 points on 14-of-25 shooting from the field to go along with 14 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a block.

With the 113-111 win, the Knicks surpass the .500 mark for the first time this season at 8-7. They'll hop on a plane to Charlotte for Saturday's rematch.
