Nets' Jeremy Lin: To be reevaluated in two weeks

Lin, who suffered a left hamstring injury in Wednesday's win over the Pistons, will be sidelined for two weeks before being reevaluated.

Analysis:

Though Lin has avoided a lengthy absence for the time being, it's still a disappointing setback for what was shaping up to be a career-best season for the point guard, who averaged 15.0 points, 6.2 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals across 26.8 minutes per game through the Nets' first five contests. His absence also represents yet another blow to the Nets' depth at point guard, where Greivis Vasquez (ankle), Caris LeVert (foot) and Randy Foye (hamstring) are already on the injury list. While Foye appears closest of the group to returning, it's uncertain if he'll be available for Friday's game against the Hornets, leaving unproven rookie Isaiah Whitehead as the only healthy option at the position. Whitehead looked raw in the preseason and his first few appearances of the regular season, so while he's the leading candidate to start Friday, there's a good chance we'll see shooting guard Sean Kilpatrick see some work as an emergency option behind the rookie.
