Spurs' Leonard owns best-ever record through 300 NBA starts

Five seasons and three games into his NBA career, Kawhi Leonard has become acquainted with victory at a rate no player before him has experienced.

The San Antonio Spurs' third game of the 2016-17 campaign Saturday night doubled as Leonard's 300th regular-season start in the league, and their 98-79 win was the 235th for Leonard in those 300 games. That's good for a winning percentage of 78.3, which averages out to 64 wins per 82-game season.

Those 235 wins are also the most for any player through 300 NBA starts, according to ESPN. Playing for the Spurs has certainly helped his cause, but unlike Byron Scott (231) or Danny Ainge (229) before him, Leonard has arguably been the primary reason for all those wins.

At the tender age of 25, he already owns two Defensive Player of the Year awards, three All-Defensive team nods, and an All-NBA first-team appearance. The 42.8 win shares he's racked up since being drafted in 2011 are 10th-most in the NBA over that span.
