Grizzlies' Marc Gasol: Will return to the lineup Wednesday

Gasol (ankle) will start at center in Wednesday's preseason finale against the Timberwolves, Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com reports.

Analysis:

After sustaining an injury to his right foot in Saturday's preseason game against the Rockets, there was initially some concern Gasol could be in line for an extended absence, considering he had fractured the same foot last February. Fortunately, he was only diagnosed with a bone bruise, and though the Grizzlies previously stated that Gasol would be held out of the preseason finale as a precaution, the team apparently decided it was fine for him to log some court time in what amounts to a tune-up before the start of the regular season. Gasol still carries some risk as an over-30 big man with an injury history, but for now, it looks like he's healthy heading into the new campaign.
