Thunder's Steven Adams: Dominates again on the offensive end

Adams finished with a team-high 17 points (8-12 FG, 1-2 FT) and nine rebounds to go with two steals and an assist across 25 minutes in Tuesday's 97-87 preseason win over the Nuggets.

Analysis:

After showing only limited flashes of offensive involvement during his first three NBA seasons, Adams looks ready to take on more of a secondary scoring role in 2016-17 with Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka departing during the offseason. In his first two games back from a right ankle sprain that had limited him for most of the preseason schedule, Adams has produced a combined 37 points to go with 20 rebounds over 48 minutes. While asking Adams to provide scoring in the teens over the course of an 82-game season may be too much to ask, a low-end double-double average could be attainable for the center now that there's more shots to go around.
