Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Endures rough shooting night in loss

Murray put up nine points (4-16 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block across 25 minutes in Tuesday's 97-87 preseason loss to the Thunder.

Analysis:

The wretched shooting night brought Murray's field-goal percentage down to 37.8 percent over the seven preseason contests, but the 19-year-old is still positioned to open the regular season in a prominent role on the second unit, especially if Gary Harris (groin) remains sidelined. Murray figures to see most of his time at shooting guard initially, but once Harris returns, the rookie could end up settling in as the top backup to point guard Emmanuel Mudiay.
