Lakers' Julius Randle: Double-doubles in Tuesday loss

Randle totaled 13 points (4-6 FG, 5-9 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block across 35 minutes in Tuesday's 109-106 preseason loss to the Blazers.

Analysis:

It's the first double-double of the preseason for Randle, who tallied 34 of them in his first full NBA campaign in 2015-16. It wouldn't be surprising to see him top that total this season, as he'll likely be in line for an upgrade in playing time and some natural improvement simply by having a year of experience under his belt. Randle doesn't offer much value in the steals and blocks categories, but he seems to have demonstrated some growth in other areas this preseason. He's averaging 2.7 assists per game and owns a 56.6 field-goal percentage, both of which are dramatic improvements from last season's marks.
