Pelicans' Anthony Davis: bump in playing time Tuesday

Davis poured in 12 points (3-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-8 FT) and added six rebounds, two assists, a steal and two blocks over 18 minutes in Tuesday's 113-96 preseason loss to the Pacers.

Analysis:

As expected, Davis saw a bump in playing time from the 12 minutes he'd received in the opener and produced a serviceable stat line despite struggling from the field. Through two exhibitions, Davis has only managed to drain eight of 24 attempts from the field, but provided a solid presence on the boards Tuesday with his six rebounds. The All-Star's playing time figures to be carefully monitored throughout the entirety of the exhibition slate, especially considering Davis' immeasurable value to a team that will already begin the season without Jrue Holiday (personal), Tyreke Evans (knee) and Quincy Pondexter (knee).
