76ers' Jerryd Bayless: No timetable for return

Bayless (wrist) appears unlikely to play in Tuesday's preseason opener against the Celtics, Tom Moore of the Bucks County Courier Times reports.

Analysis:

Bayless was held out of five-on-five scrimmaging Monday and has been battling a sore left wrist over the last few days. He said he's unsure when he'll be healthy enough to return to the floor, and is just taking things "day by day" with his recovery, according to Moore. Coach Brett Brown suggested prior to camp that Bayless is the favorite to start at point guard this season, so he'll remain in the driver's seat even while the wrist injury limits him. Look for either Sergio Rodriguez or T.J. McConnell to make the start in Tuesday's contest if Bayless can't go.
