Heat's Josh McRoberts: Limited to start training camp

McRoberts (ankle/foot) opened training camp as a limited participant Tuesday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. "It was an injury from about five weeks ago, with his ankle and foot," coach Erik Spoelstra said. "But he's actually rehabbing well. So he'll be doing more and more this week."

Analysis:

McRoberts didn't go through any team drills Tuesday, but was seen going through some shooting drills following the Heat's practice session. He expects to have his participation pick up as the week progresses, but it's yet to be announced whether he'll be cleared for the start of the preseason schedule. With Chris Bosh (blood clots) unlikely to play again for the Heat, McRoberts should have a chance to contend for a starting role at power forward and could see a decent increase in playing time after averaging just 14.2 minutes per game a season ago.
