Gasol, Conley to participate in full-team scrimmage

It appears more than likely that Mike Conley and Marc Gasol will be fully recovered by the time the 2016-17 season rolls around.

The Memphis Grizzlies issued a press release on Wednesday, stating that the duo would be suiting up in a full-team scrimmage on Oct. 1. While Memphis has yet to officially clear the two, the news is a strong indicator that both are healing as expected.

Gasol said in an interview last month that he was only a "couple weeks away" from playing in the Rio Olympics, and that all signs pointed to his foot being fine.

The Grizzlies showed tremendous confidence in Conley's health earlier in the summer, inking the 28-year-old to the richest contract in NBA history.

Both Conley and Gasol are coming off season-ending injuries that completely derailed Memphis' chances in last year's postseason. If both players can get back to where they were before their injuries, the Grizzlies will be well positioned to making a more meaningful playoff run in 2016-17.
