Bucks' Steve Novak: Fully recovered from sprained MCL

Novak (knee) said Tuesday that he's feeling pain-free and will face no restrictions when training camp opens in late September, Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Analysis:

After being traded from the Thunder to Nuggets and subsequently released last February, Novak quickly agreed to a contract with the Bucks, his hometown team. He would go on to appear in just three games with the team before suffering a season-ending sprained left MCL. As an unrestricted free agent this offseason, Novak never seriously considered joining any other teams, so it came as no surprise when he officially re-signed with the Bucks on Monday. With his health back intact, Novak will be able to provide the Bucks with some sharpshooting off the bench, but due to his limitations on the defensive end, it's unlikely that the 32-year-old be a regular rotation option for coach Jason Kidd.
