Hip-hop is filled with references to famous athletes, and as a 12-time All-Star and three-time NBA Champion, Dwyane Wade has heard his name mentioned in a number of songs.
Genius asked the new Chicago Bulls guard to add his own commentary to some of the shoutouts he's received, including Jay-Z's 2009 hit "Empire State of Mind," which he cited as a pivotal moment in his career.
Kanye West's track "The Glory" off "Graduatio" includes the line, "Two years, Dwayne Wayne became Dwyane Wade." Wade said that before he heard the song, he ran into West, who hinted at the shoutout.
Wade also reacted to being name-dropped by Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, and Fetty Wap.
