Trail Blazers' Tim Quarterman: Signs two-year deal with Portland

Quarterman agreed to a partially guaranteed two-year deal with the Trail Blazers on Monday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.

Analysis:

Quarterman, an undrafted rookie from LSU, boasts great size for the point guard position at 6-foot-6 and recently took part with the Hornets in summer league, averaging 5.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 19.0 minutes per game. With Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum both capable of running the point, Portland's lone backup at the position is Shabazz Napier, who hasn't been very impressive thus far in his short NBA career. If Quarterman impresses in training camp, he could end up beating out Napier for a roster spot.
