Kings' Georgios Papagiannis: Signs rookie contract

Papagiannis signed a rookie contract with the Kings on Friday.

Analysis:

Papagiannis was one of the more surprising lottery selections during the 2016 NBA Draft, but the Kings' brain trust was enamored by the Greek center and believe he can contribute at the NBA level right away. He'll be eased into the mix by serving in a reserve role behind Willie Cauley-Stein and DeMarcus Cousins, and may even be asked to spend some time in the D-League during the 2016-17 campaign. Papagiannis recently took part in the Las Vegas Summer League, where he averaged 5.2 points and 4.8 rebounds across 20.5 minutes per game in his four appearances.
