Draymond Green isn't letting himself become sidetracked by assault charges pending against him, and he sees no reason to tone his personality down.

"Being me has gotten me this far," the Golden State Warriors forward said Monday, according to ESPN's Ethan Sherwood Strauss.

As Green prepares for the Olympics, misdemeanor assault and battery charges await him in East Lansing, Mich. stemming from a July 10 incident with former Michigan State football player Jermaine Edmondson. The court case was moved from Aug. 4 to Thursday in order to accommodate Green's departure with Team USA to Rio de Janeiro.

"My attorneys are handling everything," Green said. "Leave it in their hands and I got an opportunity to compete for a gold medal. You don't let any type of distraction get in the way of that."
