Wizards' Bradley Beal: Agrees to max contract with Wizards

Beal agreed to a five-year, $128 million contract with the Wizards Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports.

Analysis:

The only way the Wizards were going to maintain Beal this offseason was if they offered him a max contract, which is exactly what they did despite the 23-year-old's injury concerns to start his career. Beal has played four NBA seasons and is yet to play one in its entirety as he has fought various injuries along the way. The shooting guard's upside, however, is far too high to not take the risk, as Beal still has a lot of time to develop into an elite two-way guard. He has averaged 16.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 40 percent from behind the arc since joining the league in 2012.
