Hornets' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Expects to ready for 2016-17 season

Kidd-Gilchrist (shoulder) expects to be ready to go for the start of next season, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.

Analysis:

Kidd-Gilchrist underwent the second of two surgeries to repair a torn labrum in February, after missing all but seven games during the 2015-16 campaign. He's progressed to the point in his rehab this summer where he's now able to do some shooting, lifting and running, so it appears Kidd-Gilchrist is well on his way to being ready for the start of next season. We'll likely hear more regarding his recovery when training camp nears, but look for him to jump right back into the Hornets' rotation in his first year of the four-year, $52 million contract extension he received back in August.
