Wizards' John Wall: Undergoes knee procedure

Wall underwent an procedure on his left knee Thursday to "excise calcific deposits in his patella tendon," Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today reports.

Analysis:

According to a release from the Wizards, Wall will begin rehabbing immediately and is expected to have no trouble being available for the start of the 2016-17 season. The team also announced that Wall underwent another arthroscopic procedure on his right knee in order to "remove loose bodies." The Wizards didn't provide any sort of concrete return timeline beyond suggesting that he'll be ready to go for the start of next season, so at this point, it's unclear if Wall's availability for June's Team USA minicamp or the team's training camp in the fall will be impacted. Wall was limited by the injury throughout the final month of the 2015-16 campaign and was reportedly still having trouble bending his knee, according to J. Michael of CSN Mid-Atlantic, so it's probably for the best that he undergoes an operation to avoid the knee becoming a recurring issue in the future.
