With his Golden State Warriors up 2-0 on the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference semifinals, head coach Steve Kerr is being extremely cautious about reigning league MVP Stephen Curry's return to action.

Curry probably won't play in Game 3 at the Moda Center on Saturday night as he continues recovering from a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his right knee, Kerr informed reporters Thursday afternoon.

The 28-year-old guard was optimistic Sunday that he'd be able to suit up, and underwent platelet-rich plasma treatment on Tuesday to expedite his return.

Curry didn't practice with the team Thursday, although he did do some work in the weight room and partook in some shooting away from his teammates.

"If I was in his situation, I'd rather be 100 percent," Klay Thompson said.

Golden State has won each of its playoff games without Curry by double digits, most recently Tuesday's 110-99 victory at Oracle Arena.
