Derrick Rose has been shut down for the final two games of the season, Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago reports.

Rose will be shut down for the Bulls' final two games of the season for rest purposes, Nick Friedell of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Rose has played through discomfort and swelling in his non-shooting elbow of late, and with the Bulls officially eliminated from the playoffs over the weekend, there's no sense in asking the point guard to continue to play at less than 100 percent health. Rose joins a number of other regulars, including Taj Gibson (ribs) and Pau Gasol (knee), who have been ruled out for the final two games. E'Twaun Moore (hamstring) has also been shut down for the season, leaving Aaron Brooks as the only healthy point guard on the roster. As such, Brooks figures to see a heavy minutes load Monday against the Pelicans and Wednesday against the 76ers.
