Knight underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia Thursday, the Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis:

Knight's groin issue bothered him throughout the second half of the season, requiring the Suns to shut him down and get a second opinion earlier this week. Ultimately, Knight opted to undergo surgery, which was performed Thursday in Philadelphia by a core muscle specialist. Since joining Phoenix at the trade deadline last year, Knight has had both his seasons cut short by injury, and will end this term having missed 42 percent of the Suns' games since arriving in Arizona.
