NBA Game Summary - Charlotte at Utah

Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Rodney Hood recorded a career-high 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting to lead the Utah Jazz in a 94-66 rout of the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night.

Gordon Hayward had 18 points and Rudy Gobert grabbed a game-high 22 rebounds for the Jazz, who have won six straight overall and at home.

"It's been amazing just being healthy, finally getting my foot right," said Hood of his recent play. "Just knocking down shots and shooting with confidence has been the biggest thing."

Lance Stephenson led the woeful Charlotte offense with 17 points off the bench and Al Jefferson finished with 10.

The Hornets, who have lost three of their last four, fell out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the East with the loss.

"They made tough shots," said Hornets guard Kemba Walker. "We did what we could and tried our best to get open."

Utah wasted little time racing out to a lead, as Hayward and Dante Exum buried two 3-pointers apiece during a 12-4 run that gave the Jazz an 18-10 edge just past the midway point of the first.

The Jazz shot an astonishing 88.9 percent (8-of-9) from beyond the arc in the first quarter to take a 30-16 lead into the second.

Charlotte was held scoreless for 4:21 in the second, and Trey Burke's tip-in stretched Utah's margin to 49-19 with 6:26 left in the second.

The Hornets were held to 25.7 percent shooting in the first half and trailed 61-30 at the break.

Utah led by 39 after three quarters and won by a considerable amount despite only scoring nine fourth-quarter points.
